Q: What are the system requirements for Pixetell?
Almost any Windows PC or laptop sold in the last two years can be used to create a Pixetell message. If your system is older than two years make sure it has:
- Windows XP with SP2 or SP3 (Service Pack 2 or 3), Windows Vista, or Windows 7 running on a 2GHz Processor supported by 1GB of RAM
- A web browser (IE, Safari, Firefox, etc.)
- Adobe Flash 9 or higher
- USB Headset, if you do not already have a microphone and speakers. Note: Most new laptops have a microphone and speakers built in.
A webcam is required if you want to record yourself as part of a Pixetell message.
Q: Does the recipient of a Pixetell message need Pixetell software to play my message?
A: No. Almost any Windows, Mac or Linux system can play Pixetell messages.
Q: Can I play a Pixetell message on my iPhone, Blackberry, or similar mobile device?
A: Yes. Pixetell plays on many smartphones.
Q: How can I use Pixetell if my computer doesn’t have speakers or a microphone?
A: An easy solution is to purchase a USB headset for $20-25 at your local computer store or online through our link to the Amazon store when purchasing a Pixetell subscription from Pixetell.
Q: Do I need a webcam to use Pixetell?
A: No. You only need a webcam if you want to include a video of yourself speaking.
Q: Does Pixetell work on a Mac?
A: Pixetell plays on a Mac. The Pixetell client needed to create messages is planned. Provide us with your email address and we will notify you when available. Click here for notification when Mac version becomes available.
A: Pixetell works on VMWare Fusion for Mac and requires a USB webcam and/or microphone due to the VM's audio latency. While we do not officially support this configuration, we have many users doing this.
Q: What are the main differences between Pixetell Basic and Pixetell Pro?
A: Pixetell Pro enables recording of messages beyond the 5 minute limit of Pixetell Basic. The Pro version also has security enhancements, features supporting collaboration with message recipients, and it can be updated as new product options become available.

Q: Can I run Pixetell at work and at home using my same subscription?
A: Yes, just download the Pixetell client from www.pixetell.com on your other system by selecting the 'Try Now' button. Then use your same login credentials to access your account. Please note that any files you save locally will only be available on that system. 'Shared' files are available through any system on which you use Pixetell.
Q: Is Pixetell a screen recorder like other products I run across?
A: Screen recording is one the basic features of Pixetell. In addition, Pixetell is visual communication software that enables you to quickly add voice, images and video to email and electronic documents. Pixetell provides the ability to include file attachments and enable conversations. Enhanced security and other features supporting enterprise use are also available.

Pixetell® Lite
Pixetell is on-demand visual messaging software used for applications ranging from customer support, to sales, to training… to fun! Pixetell Lite is available free by downloading the software from www.pixetell.com. Higher capacity versions of Pixetell are available as subscriptions through same website.
Pixetell consists of a small software client downloaded to your desktop or laptop computer when you take out your free subscription. When you create and "share" messages the content, including any attachments, is uploaded from your computer to the servers in the Pixetell Network, a secure content delivery network (CDN). Recipients of your message typically receive an email with a URL providing access to that Pixetell. When the recipient clicks on that URL your Pixetell then plays from the servers through their computer or smartphone.
When you "export" a message the content is translated into a common file format (e.g., AVI, FLV, MOV, WMV) which you can then make available for independent hosting outside the Pixetell Network on a website or other CDN.
Number of Messages – Subscribers can create as many Pixetell messages as they wish. However, only two of those messages can be "active" (available for recipients to view) at any time. A subscriber can change which messages are active.
Recording Length – Each message can be up to two minutes in length. Messages of greater length can be recorded but only the initial two minutes of that recording will be available for playback by message recipients. Longer length messages created with Pixetell Lite can be made available for playback if the subscriber upgrades to a paid version of Pixetell.
Attachments – Each message can include two attachments. Each attachment can be up to 20MB in size.
Export – You can create and export as many two minute messages as you want.
Upgradability – A user of Pixetell Lite can upgrade to a version with more capacity and features at any time. Existing Pixetell messages are migrated to the new version. Pixetell Basic is limited to five active messages of five minutes duration. Pixetell Pro is virtually unlimited and includes additional security and collaboration features. Pixetell Dedicated is for large scale deployment in organizations with high security requirements.
