Hello, and welcome to our new Web site. My name is Sebastian Rapport – Founder and CEO of Ontier. We are an emerging company with a big dream: to revolutionize how people communicate.
About two years ago I started Ontier after watching my wife struggle to make her ideas understood by a group of web developers working from a remote location. She would describe a concept or image, and they would try to create what she described. After many headaches and endless hours of dumping static screenshots into lifeless PowerPoint presentations, I figured there had to be a better way, and I started to experiment.
Since childhood I've always enjoyed tinkering with technology. I taught myself to program at the age of eight on an old teletype I found tucked away in the back room of my elementary school in one of Portland’s poorest neighborhoods. When I started, I knew only three commands – load, list and run, so I worked every waking hour outside of class until I understood how to program.
